government boundaries. They have various degrees of
autonomy, with some having the power to demand taxes
from citizens.
Chuckey
Utility District - Shirley
Collins. Serves 3,100 customers in the area
immediately east of Greeneville. Governed by a board
of three commissioners appointed by the County
Executive to four year terms: John R. Carter - President, Harry Kyker -
Treasurer, Dennis Adams - Secretary County Water
Office, 800 West Andrew Johnson Highway, Greeneville.

Anchor Utility District
- Shirley
Collins. Provides water service to 2,325 customers
northeast of Greeneville in the vicinity of highway
93, Snaps Ferry Road, and Baileyton Road. It is
governed by a board of three commissioners appointed
by the County Executive to four-year terms:

Glen
Hills Utility District
- Ruth
LaFollette. Provides water service to 3,600 customers
in the southeastern section of Greene County. The
utility district is governed by a board of three
commissioners appointed by the County Executive to

Greeneville
Light & Power System
- Bill
Carroll, General Manager. The Greeneville Light &
Power System provides electricity to all areas of
Greeneville/Greene County. It is governed by a five
member board of directors appointed by the Greeneville
Board of Mayor and Aldermen (one board member must be
a Greeneville alderman). 636-6200
Greeneville
Water Department -
Ken Earle, Acting Superintendent. Provides water
service to 9,000 customers in Greeneville, Tusculum,
and surrounding areas. The Water Department is
governed by a three-member
board elected by the citizens of Greeneville.

Greene Utility District
- Provides
water service to 1,625 customers in the North Greene/Baileyton
area. The district is governed by a board of directors
elected by the customers: Bill McCamey - President,
Harold Smith - Vice-President, Wanda
Sensabaugh - Secretary/ Treasurer, Harry Cochrane,
Jimmy V. Carter. Located at County Water
Office, 800 W. Andrew Johnson Highway. 639-6362
Old
Knoxville Utility District
- Provides
water to approximately 2,100 households between the
Newport Highway and the Hawkins County line. The
district is governed by a board of three commissioners
appointed by the County Executive to four-year terms:
J.W. Douthat, President, Walter Dyer, Brad Emde.
Billing is done through the Mosheim Town Hall.
